Acceptance of these terms
By accessing Peer Receipts or submitting content, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or submit a Receipt.
Eligibility
You must have the legal capacity to enter into these terms, and the authority to accept them on behalf of any organization you represent. If you are submitting a Receipt in connection with your work, you are responsible for making sure that doing so is permitted by your employer or institution.
Platform purpose
Peer Receipts helps scientists share and discover practical experiences with laboratory products, software, instruments, and services. Receipts reflect the perspective of individual contributors and are provided for general informational purposes.
Content on Peer Receipts is not professional, legal, medical, regulatory, safety, or purchasing advice. A Receipt describes what one contributor experienced in their own setting. You are responsible for evaluating that information within your own context, and for making decisions appropriate to your organization, application, and requirements.
Your submissions
You retain ownership of the content you submit. Peer Receipts does not claim ownership of your Receipts.
By submitting a Receipt, you grant Peer Receipts a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, format, edit for clarity, anonymize, publish, display, distribute, organize, and summarize that content, and to incorporate it into Receipt Stacks and related platform features, in order to operate, improve, and promote Peer Receipts.
If your account is later anonymized, published Receipts and Receipt Stacks may remain available with their scientific content, ratings, experiences, lifecycle history, and product relationships intact. Personal profile information, email, employer or company identity, private verification evidence, and profile links are removed or de-identified from the retained public content, which is labelled Former verified contributor.
You represent that your submission:
- reflects your own genuine experience
- is accurate to the best of your knowledge
- does not disclose trade secrets, confidential information, patient information, or personal data about others
- does not violate the rights of any third party
Acceptable use
Do not use Peer Receipts to submit false, misleading, promotional, defamatory, discriminatory, unlawful, malicious, or infringing content, or to interfere with the website or its security controls.
The following are specifically prohibited:
- coordinated rating manipulation
- fake or incentivized Receipts
- impersonating a vendor, organization, or another person
- submitting attacks against competitors
- attempting to identify anonymous contributors
- scraping or harvesting contributor information
- bypassing verification controls
Verification and moderation
We may:
- verify professional context
- request clarification about a submission
- edit a submission for readability or anonymity
- decline to publish content
- remove content that does not meet platform standards
- suspend or restrict access
Verification is a quality signal, not a guarantee that every statement in a Receipt is complete, current, or correct.
Peer Receipts intellectual property
The Peer Receipts name, logo, site design, software, category and context taxonomy, and original platform content are owned by Peer Receipts and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, adapt, or reuse them without permission. This does not apply to the content of Receipts, which remains owned by the contributors who submitted it.
Third-party services and references
The website may link to third-party tools, forms, companies, products, or services. Peer Receipts does not control those third parties and is not responsible for their availability, content, terms, privacy practices, or performance. A reference or Receipt does not imply our endorsement.
Disclaimers and responsibility
Peer Receipts is provided on an “as available” basis without guarantees about uninterrupted access, accuracy, completeness, reliability, or suitability for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by applicable law, you use the website and rely on its content at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Peer Receipts is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business, arising from your use of the website or your reliance on content published on it.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Peer Receipts against claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from content you submit, your misuse of the website, your violation of these terms, or your violation of the rights of a third party.
Suspension or termination
We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access to Peer Receipts where needed to address abuse, fraud, violations of these terms or our Community Guidelines, security risks, or threats to the integrity of the platform.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the platform changes. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. Questions about these terms may be sent through the contact channels provided on the Peer Receipts website.
